Renewable energy is critical to energy independence

Wind and solar power is local power.  The United States domestically produces wind turbines, solar panels, and energy storage (batteries and other methods). Once built, renewable energy plants can produce power for decades without relying on any foreign inputs.

One of the justifications that NWE gave for high prices in the winter of 22/23 was that price of methane spiked due to the war in Ukraine.  Wind and sunshine are immune to price volitility due to geopolitical events.
